Porch is almost done!

Front porch is coming along.
So many neighbors have complimented the work. I hope they're still feeling as good when we have to hold a fundraiser to finish. :)

New light is coming soon.

Sewer line passed inspection! Now we can bury it and start working on the yard.

Sewer Line

The entire sewer line had to be replaced. The back porch had to come down to access it.

Before:
After:

Porch cover will come off, too.

Utility markings for safe digging

The sewer connects in the alley behind the house we live in. They had to dig up part of our backyard, too.

New clean outs- there were no clean outs on the old "pipe." It was made of red clay tile, and was broken in many places.
New PVC sewer line
It gets inspected tomorrow, then buried, and then we can lay new sod or make flower beds.

This guy makes double joists all day. That's all he does is nail 2 or 3 boards together.

Electrical Has Begun

The whole house is being rewired. New panel, new 220 volt for the dryer, new everything.
Rust on the panel, along with overloaded circuits and chewed wires. The previous owner was not afraid of altering the electrical system himself. He left openly spliced wires exposed on this back porch with a metal roof. He cut the plug off a power strip and wired it into the ceiling fan for additional outlets. Pulling new wires
Can lights in kitchen.
Whole house is "shiplap" construction, or basically entirely built of tongue-and-groove boards. This is the ceiling in the kitchen.

New wiring in the will-be bathroom.
